The best thing that it was shipped with an adaptor. So there is no need for batteries. Also, it updates the time automatically if it is unplugged and plugged. I liked the screen the most because I could see the time from a few meters far.

I bought so I could use by the bed and in bathroom and search for battery operated. This came up and looked good but turned out to be mains! And time gas to be reset if unplugged. The alarm on full volume is very quiet! The light on the time glares out all night so I have to turn it around which means I cannot check the time in the night without the light keeping me awake all night! It was also supposed to have AM radio as well as FM and digital! The FM radio won’t pick up any stations and I only got one station on digital radio! Wouldn’t recommend for bedroom radio alarm! The only reason I haven’t returned it is because the cost of returning it wouldn’t be worth my while!

The sound quality of this little clock radio is adequate for its intended purpose. The display is rather annoying - a bright blue light that illuminates the entire room all night long. Digging through the settings menu (which is rather complicated and unintuitive) the display can be set to minimum. However, I found it necessary to put a piece of red lighting gel in front of it. While we are on the display, the time is shown in big numerals (not that big actually) and then the time is shown again on the next line down - this time with the seconds. What's the point of showing the time twice when one larger time would have been more useful? Ok - now the radio. It pulls in stations ok but is complicated to use - there really should be one dedicated button you press to get the radio on for sleep timer (say 30 or 60 mins) instead one has to go through the menu, so you certainly can't do this in the dark, for example if you haven't gotten to sleep and decide you want the radio for a bit.
