Used on a 10', 1000 gal, (4500l) pool. Does take a while to heat up but we used it with a solar cover and it does make a noticeable difference to the water temperature on a not-so-sunny day. The model from this seller is actually the later 2017 version with the flow sensor, led display and inline RCD, although the picture doesn't show it. At £100 it represents good value and comes complete with everything you need to fit it to your Bestway/Intex/Summer Escape pool. We have fitted ours to a timer. However, it can only be manually switched on at the heater itself, presumably for safety reasons, but can be switched off by the timer. Easy to fit, easy to use and does the job (albeit slowly!). Real test will be when the water gets very cool!

On the whole very disappointed, appears well made, very easy set set up but two things are not satisfactory, 1) extremely slow to create any temperature change in our 12' pool, maybe 1 deg. C in 2 hours and 2) to state it must not be used with an extension lead is highly impractical. Used in conjunction with a correctly rated cable and and fittings it should be OK, it is what we did.

Wasn’t sure after reading reviews but it really does work although we did part fill with warm and cold water at first. The water was lovely and warm. Also used bubble wrap solar cover and this helped too. Would buy again

The pump does make a difference to the pool (10ft) but it has to be on for at least 4 hours. The power it draws is massive... like boiling a kettle all afternoon. This explains why it melted our old extension cable - it was only 10A so no good. We had to buy new 5m 13A extension and works fine so far. An expensive to run bit of kit so it will only be used when necessary.

The relatively low cost of this unit indicates what you can expect from it, but it IS capable of slowly warming a moderately-sized pool. It is very simple to install although the instructions and diagrams are not always clear enough, so you will need to use some common sense and a little DIY skill. Seems to run okay, but carries a warning that it should not be left running while people use the pool. This means having to remember to switch it off and on at regular intervals, but if you forget, the pool may take another 1-3 days to re-warm. Also note that the heater works in conjunction with most pool filters, but these do not seem to be recommended to run for more than 6 hours at a time, once again NOT while the pool is occupied.
