I use it for keeping inventory of my tools on a library check in/out system because I transport my tools often. This scanner is absolutely great! But, as anything, it isn't without it's quirks; The stand assembly is a faff, but is pretty good once it's set up, though I don't use it. The wire is fairly long, as you'd expect from a scanner, but with such length, it looks messy. I'd say a little spring-loaded spool for the wire would be ideal. Extra cost? Yes. Would I pay that extra cost? YES! Setup is great; where most scanners on the market would have you download a load of software, this does away with it. It comes with a little booklet absolutely FILLED with barcodes. These barcodes are settings for the scanner. For example, if you wanted to make it constantly scan (you have to use this setting before using the stand) instead of trigger-activated, scan the barcode underlined with "Constantly Scan." The trigger isn't the most ergonomic, but it's still more than enough to get the job done day in, day out. The cable can detach from the scanner unit itself, which I found handy, and it uses a plug similar to an RJ45 into the base of the scanner. The scan speed is INSANELY fast compared to the old (over ten years old) MetroLogic scanner I used to use. The only downside is it can only scan across it's projected line. Again, this is not really important. Unless you're using it on it's stand at a till, it's perfectly adequate for the job it has to fulfill. Would I recommend this? Of course! It's superb quality for £20! However, I'd spend an extra five just for a reel for the cable. Cheers! :DRead full review

The product is good. The instructions are not useful unless you have some kind of Barcode Reader degree. Have not been able to use it yet as being a simple person I cannot understand how to do so.
