Is good for the money, £40 inc delivery. This amp is not bad in any areas for the money. Good budget amp, just not as good as budget rotels and nads. Good bass and smooth treble. Direct button helps.

My old Rotel Amp was lacking a bit of punch since I bought a new Project Essential Record Deck. My vinyl didn't have the 'Oomph' any more (or so it seemed to my ears), perhaps Rotel and Project just weren't in love? So I spent some time reviewing various amps from the seventies and eighties and even the nineties. The end result was Denon, an amp that packs good bass along with substainable treble (so they said). OK - I checked ebay and lo and behold various Denon amps were for sale. I placed a bid for the PMA-250 and just managed to win (at a cost of almost £40 - what a bargain I thought, as these amps sold for about £300 originally I believe.) A couple of months down the line and boy, what a great amp it is, it plays and grabs your attention anything from pop to rock to soul to classical with an 'Oomph' that will outdo most other 'Oomphs' (or so it seems to my ears!) Go get one, you won't regret it!Read full review
