This is a seriously nice piece of kit. It is sculpted and sits well in my kitchen. As for operation......well, yes it meets my expectations. I make scotch pancakes but when I got an induction hob my griddle pan never heated evenly. This solves the problem, the first time I used it I did one small pancake at a time making small heat setting adjustments as I went. Once I was happy I found 3 pancakes of approx. 4inches in diameter works well. Don't try 4, they fit but it cools the plate down. Cleaning is so easy so long as you are not splashing batter all over the place, let it cool a bit then give the hot plate a wipe with a damp cloth, that's it. The residual heat will dry the plate. A great buy.

Slow at cooking even on highest setting. Great for the older kids (age 10 yrs) to use but I can make double the crepes in the same time in a non-stick frying pan. Wooden spatula thing is good.

I bought this a few weeks ago and it has been used several times to make really great crepes. I bought this particular unit because the hotplate is perfectly flat, there is no lip on the edge allowing you to easily slide the wooden spatula under the edge of the pancake/crepe without the battles of a curled edge in a frying pan. It heats up really quickly, I only ever use it at medium heat otherwise I find it too hot. It comes with various accessories are good however the wooden spatula is not really long enough to reach right across the unit and hold comfortably at the same time, so if you're cooking a full size crepe, your fingers get perilously close to the hotplate in order to flip it, so that's something I would look to replace with a longer one. The only other negative I have is that the hotplate is not removable, this is not a big issue but it would make the task of cleaning it easier. Any batter that runs off the edge of the hotplate will fall straight onto the surface the device is placed on, so the plastic body of the unit stays clean even if your work surface gets messy. All in all, I'm glad I bought it. Knowing about the one or two negatives would not have stopped me buying it. For pancakes and crepes, it is brilliant. You won't be disappointed.Read full review
