The alarm clock radio is well constructed, looks good and has all the features you need of a clock radio. It is very easy to set up and get started - until you have to use the instructions. Setting an alarm is a logical process, once you've done it the first time. Unfortunately the instructions provide a paragraph of text rather than a list and it was easy to lose your place and exceed the time allowed - at which point the system resets back to the start. I still haven't found the place in the manual that explicitly describes how to switch the alarm off in the morning (I've worked out that you press and hold the standby button). The radio sound quality is great for a box of this size (surprisingly good) and it's really useful to have the USB charger ports. Overall a great purchase which I'm really pleased with.Read full review

The complexity of operation has meant that after two weeks I still have to refer to the instruction book. The unit looks and feels well made. The display has good visibility day or night, the scan tuning is efficient and the sound quality is great. As a radio it scores highly. However nobody seems to have checked out the use of the buttons in lifelike situations. The use is far from intuitive and uses several button combinations. My first problem was with setting 'presets', this seems hit and miss even when following the guide book. However once set they are easy to use, this may be an oversight in the guide book instructions. The main problems occur round use of the alarms. If I set an alarm, quite fiddly to start with, then wake up before this alarm goes off, there is no way of silently cancelling the alarm to allow my partner to sleep on. One has to switch on the radio at whatever volume it was last used in order to then make several clicks to cancel the set alarm. Doing this when half asleep is not very friendly or successful. I feel certain a bit more thought on use of buttons and modes could make this device seriously better.Read full review

Pleased with the product, the radio works well, but, the instruction book is not that well written. e.g. 'Push and hold would be better described as 'long push' or 'push for two seconds'. Turning on is easy, push and release standby button, but to turn off, it is a long push, otherwise you end up going from DAB to FM or vice versa. No separate alarm knob, and the radio has to be turned on to set the Alarm. A long push on the info/menu button, then cycle through the menu until you reach Alarm 1 or Alarm 2. The alarm settings are; once, weekdays or weekend, so if you only need to get up on a Saturday, then you set the Alarm to once. When it sounds, touch standby and it goes off. The following Saturday needs all the info again, but I have found, if you turn the Alarm on and leave it, it will adopt all the previous Saturday's settings. It would be five star if there was, as on the Majority, separate buttons for the alarm, and a large button to turn off the alarm which would be easy to find in the dark.Read full review

Bought as a gift for a DAB radio 'enthusiast' as a bedside radio and jack point for charging their smart phone. Lightweight but feels well built. Very easy to setup. Clear display. Decent sound output and a clear DAB signal. Ticks all the boxes.
