This is my second BM450, my first lasted six years and I used it nearly every day with few problems, it is a highly durable machine which I can recommend. My only negative comment is it is a tall machine which if you keep it on a work surface makes the panel difficult to see.

My last BM450 lasted more years than I can remember. The minute I realised it was broken I went straight to EBay to replace with the identical model. It produces reliable results and is so easy to use. Great recipe book too. Regularly use the timer to get fresh bread in the morning. Also appreciate the dough making function. Rarely use shop bought rolls anymore and never need shop bought naans or pizzas. Would hate to be without it!

It is well built, looks good, and bakes a good loaf if you are experienced in adjusting your recipe to match the machine. Precision in measurement of ingredients is vital. I ignore the insistence of first putting dried quick yeast in the bottom of the pan, and use activated yeast in water and olive oil on top, which works very well. But the design flaw is that the paddle gets stuck in the loaf very badly each time due to lack of non-stick coating and tears a large hole in the base. The cure to this is take the dough out after the last paddle motion, remove the paddle from the dough, and put it back to prove and bake.
