This is the mic I would choose over all other brands that have big market names. I have put it up against two other major market brands and battled tested it for many years. I own more than one and recently helped my local high school get one after showing them how well mine worked in their stadium. This was after their district level techs couldn’t get a cheaper and then more expensive brand to work well. The EV is a no brainer. Use only the FCC approved channels

I've been a DJ for almost thirty years, and these are the only wireless microphone systems I trust. I purchased my first RE2 system five years ago, and now own four of these systems, which are also available as the Telex FMR-500. These are without a doubt some of the best wireless microphones available, especially at the price-point they're usually found on eBay. The sound quality of the N7 mic element, aka "head", is phenomenal. It was originally recommended to me by a high-end vocalist, and if it can handle his voice, it can handle anything I'm going to throw at it. The next step down, the N2 head, is still very good. The signal range is mind-boggling, greatly exceeding any reasonable expectations. I've used these outdoors at large events, and have never had a range issue. The ease of finding and selecting a clear channel is unbeaten: just tell the receiver to "scan", and then set the handheld to the frequency the receiver chooses as most clear. EV/Telex really put some thought behind powering the unit as well. The battery doesn't care whether it's inserted -/+ or +/-; either way works just as well. This comes in handy when you're trying to change out a battery in the dark. The power level of the battery in the transmitter is also displayed on the front panel of the receiver. For bands, this feature makes it easy for the engineer to monitor the battery levels for the whole band from his location back at the mixer. What also makes this the system of choice is the wide selection of accessories: single-unit rack-mount adaptors, double-unit rack-mount adaptors, antenna combiners (so your rack doesn't look like an antenna farm), headsets, bodypacks, laveliers; you name it, they have it. I'm the president of a local DJ association, and frequently work with members from all over the state. All of them are experienced performers, and all have commented on the sound quality of my RE2 microphones. Highly recommended!Read full review
