sharp and handy to use, makes dinner with beans easy too

I bought this without looking at the reviews after I had grown a bumper harvest of runner beans. Please don't waste your money. Just run a potato peeler down both sides of your beans and you will be sorted. I tried to push beans through, pull them through and cut them into small pieces to get them through. Seriously, don't bother. Do the stringing manually with a sharp knife or a potato peeler. Save your money

Unfortunately you get what you pay for. Overall the design is good with the handle to help control and hold firmly, but what let's this slicer down is the fact the steel slicing blades are too flimsy for the intended purpose and bend out of shape as soon as you try to pull through a larger bean of which everyone hasl experienced..

The cutting blades are blunt, i would consider it an unfinished product, or maybe'slipped past quality control. £1.99 including postage worth of junk. This particular make, common on E-bay, whether they are all from the same batch ! but priced upto 3 times as much approx.

We used to have a similar one which was brilliant but sadly the blades lost their edge. The new one lasted 3 days and then broke and has now been binned. It could not cope with the larger beans and seemed to be quite blunt.
