The Epson printer was a replacement for an another Epson Stylus. The first unit only printed in black and had to be returned to the retailer( Argos)for a cash refund. The SX515W works well in all colours at the moment.... I have not tried to replace the ink cartridges yet but even with Epson's own I have experienced problems in getting the printer to recognise replacements.I had to get on-line help from Epson, they then told me to return the printer to the retailer. I purchased this unit based on the devil you know rather than the one you don't! To compare it to others it is cheap and fairly easy to use.
This is a very good product, I would recommend it to anyone as a much cheaper alternative to the wireless HP printers. The quality of the prints are every bit as good but the cost of inks is much less. I remember how you could send a film off for processing and 24 snaps would cost about £5, well for £5 with this little beauty you can get a pack of papers and a full set of inks and the prints you really want, Excellent. Only drawback is that like all Epson I have used, if you run out of one ink the darn thing stops printing till you replace it. Nuisance.
I was unable to fix but it was worth trying as these printers are brilliant when working right. The print quality is very good on the working printers which is why I gave it a good review.

As a first time printer, this was an excellent buy. Really easy to use and quick! I mainly use it for creating colouring pictures for my daughter, which she loves, but makes really good pictures. Overall, a great general use printer which is ideal for any home.
I bought this machine secondhand, not knowing a great deal about it, because I had just bought a set of cartridges for my defunct printer and I did not want to waste £34. I reckoned that the £50 I spent would not be wasted if I got a few months out of it. I was pleasantly surprised by the range of variations on a simple printing operation. I had not previously been able to vary the magnification of the prints so this was a discovered bonus. Best of all is the illuminated panel which allows me to change the mode of operation. The quality of the prints is excellent and the speed of operation is very good.
