We owned our set for a number of years and have found it to be exceptionally good in picture quality , ease of use and value for money. It was easy to set up straight from the box has built in free view and enough inputs to plug in all our many devices. It looks good in our lounge and has served us well.Remote control still works fine after several years ..We are only changing our set because we have just got a more up to date model again we have chosen LG.

the lg 42le4500 is an excellent quality tv. straight out of the box it is a quick setup, upon connecting my v hd box and xbox i noticed a big difference in clarity from my previous tv (being a 1080i samsung). the colours are top quality, i have given it 4 stars as compared to higher range models you can notice a difference in quality, but most costing twice or 3 times the price. it is an edge lit tv so some people say that in the corners the lights are to bright but i found that playing around with the settings compensates this greatly, also you can turn it onto intelligent sensor and the tv will adjust brightness automatically with the luminosity in the room. also the sound is pretty good, most flat screens are well known for their tinny sound but even up full it appears to be pretty clear, though as with all flat screens would recommend connecting a home cinema. all in all i am really impressed with the quality of picture of this tv and would recommend to all as a starter led as for movies and gaming it is great, but if you can afford to spend big i would look into the new sharp quatron, or the lg inifinia boarderless (which has a 9mil:1 contrast ratio and looks the bomb, my friend pruchased 1 buy unfortunately £1000 is out of my price range)Read full review
