I did some research before buying and watched some YouTube reviews. My new Black & Decker alligator arrived quickly. I opened it and plugged in the battery for 9 hours as stated in the manual. The light never turned green even though I left it plugged in for another several hours. Wasn't sure if it was supposed to turn green, but it never did. I got some bar oil and put it in the reservoir, which was really simple. Tightening the chain is super easy. For the past several days I've been working on my neglected 2.5 acre yard and ditches, and it's doing an awesome job from cutting twigs to trunks 5-6" in diameter! It's light enough for me to use for several hours, and the battery lasts long enough for me to be ready to call it a day. FYI I'm a 56-year-old single mother of three and grandma of two little girls ❤️Read full review

I like it as well as the other one I have. The big thing will be a more powerful and have a longer lasting battery. When I get going I'll work all day standing on a ladder triming Palm trees often with no place to plug it in and it talkes all night to recharge batteries. Two units and three batteries. If I need to trim trees all day.

As far as I know, Black and Decker is the only company making a tool of this sort. I love the Alligator but think it of poor quality. I'd be willing to pay more if a better piece of similar equipment was on the market.
