The designers for the saw and battery did not meet, resulting in a failure in fitting the battery. However a small modification using a heated knife solved this problem. When fitted the saw worked very well and was able to cut down small saplings and brambles, which was the reason for my purchase. Taking into account the price, which is a good third off the cost of other similar makes, and allowing for the minor rectification needed. I feel, on the whole, it is a good buy. But it would only be advisable for anybody able to carry out a small DIY job to fit the battery.

It is a shame that this is a different Voltage (24v) to our Greenworks Hedge trimmer (40v), That would give me convenience and cost saving and Greenworks product range buy in. It is also greener, but I think the name Greenworks refers to the colour of the handle. It is a bit cheaply made and when you pull the pole extension out the socket, you may find it comes away at a manufacturing joint! So go steady. But it cuts alright and can quickly earn its keep.

The oil container drips onto the chain by gravity. It is not pumped by running the saw. This means it all drips out over time. It's best just to add only as much chain oil as you need for the job. Otherwise the saw works fine.
