I needed this for a one off non critical use , previously i had bought two Draper trestles , which are identical in design but over twice the price, The Drapers use thicker metal and went together easily , I am happy enough with these unbranded copies considering i shall use perhaps twice, however some of holes were slightly unaligned so i had to drill the metal ( took no time at all ) , one nut was missing , and a few of the washers did not fit the bolts. Used bigger washers to spread the load when tightening certain bolts because otherwise the metal underneath would bend, makes me more confident in the trestles. Takes about 20 minutes to assemble. Verdict ... get these for limited and occasional use , get the Draper version if you need better quality.

Someone said they're a nightmare to assemble but they are dead easy actually. As long as you have a small battery screwdriver along with a 10mm nut adapter they should take no longer than 15 mins to put together.......! That said...... Once you assemble them, you will be disappointed that the finished product doesn't match the pictures and description. The concept is brilliant but they need to manufacture them from a much sturdier grade of steel and also make the height adjuster a quick release system instead of having to get spanners and screwdrivers out agin to spend 10 mins adjust both sides of each bench just to raise the height bar. There is NO WAY IN HELL that I would rely on these for safe working access platforms. I used 3 of them to span 12 ft with 2 x scaffold battens to lay the last 3 courses of bricks. One collapsed and actually bent in half! They state 200kg load capacity, I would say more like 50kg MAX safe load and use ONLY if on very flat, level, solid ground. In fairness to the seller I was refunded 50% of the cost and now use them for very very light work such as a saw horse etc but would never use them again as working platforms and I certainly wouldnt ever extend them past the minimum 800mm height. In summary these benches are just not up to the standard that we UK Tradesmen would accept. Shame because if they were made from better material and a couple of tweaks here n there would make them a best seller!Read full review

The plan sheet was utterly useless. It was a bad photo-copy. There were no instructions. I managed to assemble the trestles in spite of the lack of guidance. Life could have been so much easier if some care had been taken.

I'm using these for a large, long running DIY project. They are sturdy and fit for purpose. As mentioned by others the instructions are a little vague, but common sense and using the pictures on here means the task is simple. Do NOT overtighten the screws when assembling, otherwise you will not be able to extend the trestles.
