Works very well. You can run it along a straight edge without having to use the special guide. Allow 5mm from guide to cutting point. You need to change the blades frequently to get the best result, especially on thick board. We cut 3.5mm no bother.

If you can put enough weight on it, this will cut lovely straight lines but I don't have the upper body strength for this and found it very difficult to pull down to make the cuts. I had to stop after cutting for a couple of frames. You need also need a heavy straight edge to use with it, otherwise you are trying to press your weight down with both hands whilst cutting and can easily slip. After practicing for a few days, I did manage to get some reasonable looking mat boards cut but was unable to get the corners completely accurate using the mark on the cutter. I'm not really happy with the quality of the mat boards so far, so I'm not sure I will use them. I will persevere for a bit longer and experiment with using my own marks and a much heavier straight edge but I'm not convinced I'll get the quality I want.Read full review
