Very low-tech production. It seems a bit dry to me but the children love it and are really becoming involved with letters and sounds. Strange but seems to work. Delivered quickly at a good price.

I shouldn’t have assumed but I did that this was going to be an animated DVD like on the cover and dated though it looks I will always give something a chance. I wish I hadn’t on both accounts! The characters are not animated but in fact puppets on sticks and wire, not to mention they look freakish and a little scarey! The stories are slow moving with no fluidity or depth or scope. Freakish puppets and one dimensional stories combined the whole viewing experience is quite morbid/dreary. What about the the important thing, the phonics? Averagely fine but if the images and stories fail to captivate the young audience then they won’t learn what’s being taught and you’d be better off buying phonics flash cards. The price is excessive enough for a DVD but because it was 'educational' I didnt mind. Now I mind a lot!;-)Read full review
Looks very dated now but as i am teaching letters and sounds but using jolly phonics songs and stories this is a great dvd to reinforce learning. The children in Reception (age 4/5) seem to like it.
