The Foo Fighters are on of the best live acts of the last 30 years and I got this for my Nephew for Xmas as he likes Rock and has been to the Download Festival..It's all the more poignant with the loss of drummer Taylor Hawkins this year to relive his talent with Dave Grohl and the boys in the early days.

....then this is probably the next best thing Released around the same time as the One By One album, the setlist is a mix of balls out hard rock with a few of the more mellow tunes scattered inbetween, and a few acoustic ones ... well.... errr... there as well - but I'm sure your DVD player has a skip track button :) It includes one of the earlier extended versions of Stacked Actors, and whilst it's not as staggeringly awesome as the 10 minute version they played on the last tour, it is certainly not to be sniffed at. Also, it contains a full electric version of Everlong - something of a rarity these days, as it tends to get played either partly or wholly acoustic live nowadays. As for the DVD itself - IMO the Toronto section is all you'll really want, the other sections at Slane Castle are ok, but the repeated video caps are just annoying after a while. For home cinema users the DTS track for the Toronto gig is great, something to wake the neighbours, and shake the walls down .... enjoy!Read full review
The reason why I bought it was because Foo Fighters are my favorite band in the world. I had some expectations to this DVD, but felt that something was missing. For one thing, I think that a good band DVD should contain some interviews with the members of the band, and that wasn't the issue here. I saw the Foo's live recently myself, and must admit that I find them better live now than they were just some years ago, when this DVD was made. The superb level they hold live is therefore better manifested in their live DVD from Hyde Park. So I would recommend live from Hyde Park and the Skin and Bones sessions to this DVD in question.
I bought this dvd because quite simply I love the Foos! Having seen them twice and knowing how awesome they are live, I wanted something I could watch at home whenever I wanted :-) The Toronto concert is fantastic as is their acoustic set. There is a hidden set on there from Dublin which can be accessed via the Slane songs! The camera work in Slane castle was a bit of a let down. However, i think this deserves 9 out of 10 though. Long live the Foos, these guys are definitely up there with the Greatest Rock Bands Of All Time!!!!!!
