Breville is pricier than others and justifiably so: high performing and high quality workmanship. One tiny consumer-friendly feature on all Breville appliances that's worth whatever extra one-two dollars Breville products might cost, and which other small appliance manufacturers fail to incorporate at their peril: a power cord plug with an intentional hole in the middle. This makes for infinitely easier plug removal from an electrical outlet. This design feature reduces to near zero the incidence of impatient users removing the power cord from an outlet by yanking the cord out of the outlet rather than removing the power cord by holding onto the plug to do so.

Liked my first Breville toaster oven so much, I replaced it with the same model. After over 10 years, the start button did not function properly. We mainly use the features for bake, toast, and pizza. It really is a smart oven - and remembers your last setting for temp & time or for number of slices and darkness. Considered the mini, but seemed too small for a crowd. Considered the one with an air fryer, but just too big for my limited counter space. So, this one is just right!

When it was time to retire my old toaster oven, I searched for a better alternative to the small appliance that basically only did toast well. Enter the Breville: I was searching on Bed, Bath & Beyond's website and happened upon the Breville oven. The ratings were good and upon further web searches, I decided to try it. The price was a bit daunting, but after having used this oven for over 2 years now, I can say that it's well worth the extra $$$$. This oven bakes flawlessly! I have baked cakes, pies and other dishes that normally would have been done in a conventional oven and a very hot kitchen. Everything, without fail, has come out flawlessly! I only wish that the oven had double racks to bake 2 layer cakes at once. However, I have baked cakes in a 9x9" square pan and they consistently come out perfect. Want chicken wings? I buy pre-made chicken wings from the local grocery store in bulk. I package them in quantities of 8 and freeze them. If I decide to defrost them, I simply use the "reheat" setting and default temps and times and they come out nice and hot, crispy and ready to dip in about 15 minutes. Frozen takes a little longer, but thanks to the "frozen foods" button, the temps and times are automatically adjusted. There is a pizza setting as well that makes perfect mini pizzas. In order to use all of the features of this oven, it is a good idea to read the user's manual. Otherwise, you're missing out on so many features and applications for this appliance. It takes a little getting used to, but once you've done each feature a couple of times, it becomes second nature. If I had to fault it on anything, I would make 2 suggestions: * Redesign the outside to remain safe to touch when baking - right now, you MUST be careful not to touch the outside of the oven as it becomes red hot.....especially take care if you have small children. * Make it a little better at toasting. I find that with certain breads, I have to hit the button again after toasting to get it the color and crispness that I prefer. However, with a little tweaking of the settings, you can get the hang of toasting to perfection. These criticisms do not prevent me from highly recommending this oven, however. It is a great appliance that is attractive in the kitchen, well-made and an appliance that will serve you for many years. Yes, it is more expensive than the traditional toaster ovens on the market, but when you consider the wide variety of uses for this oven, it is well worth the extra bucks. I only wish that I had purchased the larger, convection model (but I was afraid that it would be too big for my 10x10 kitchen). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Read full review

I like the all metal construction which makes it easy to just wipe clean. I also like the simplicity of operation, two knobs with push and turn functions and you are cooking. I have used it several times and don't find the outer shell getting overly hot, of course I have used it for simple meals like steak and potatoes and not for 15 lb turkey. Because of its simplicity I find myself using it a lot more than my old unit. Overall I am glad I bought it.

Great small oven, heats up fast and love the heat setting and timer, easy to read and see. We upgraded from larger Breville BOV900 to this smaller BOV650 both are great oven’s, lager has convection and air fryer that we never use.
