Well built and solid, as you would expect from KitchenAid. Does a great job at grinding and has a wide range of grind size. It is a bit loud but you get used to it. The only thing I think would make it better is a more sturdy receptacle for the grinds, perhaps with a handle and pour spout to make it easier to fill the paper filter. I have a Keurig so being able to pour the grinds in would be easier than spooning. Overall....love it!

Well engineered and good, solid construction. Metal with Glass (not cheap plastic), with a nice glossy finish in 3 color choices... Black, Silver and Red. Burr grinder range is easily adjustable with instructions in owner's manual and a 4mm metric allen wrench. I wanted a finer grind than the original finest with the dial set on '8' as I use this for espresso, so I emptied the bean carafe, used my allen wrench to open the adjustment knob casing, 3 clicks while listening to the grinder (as is in the instructions) and was finished in 2 minutes. Simple and straight forward.

You can feel the build quality even by looking at the picture. In reality this thing is even better. It is a bit on a noisy side, but quieter than my old blade grinder. The main goal for purchasing this grinder was to let all members of my family to grind coffee for themself as needed. Previously this task was assigned to me as grinding in a blade grinder was messy and slow. I am really happy with this purchase.
