I like this inverter and would recommend it for a small installation (garage / shed). It will power an 800W oil filled radiator and a desktop PC. The DC side wiring connections are good with suitable strain relief. However I wasn't so happy with the AC output - the terminals are solid enough, but there is no way to clamp the cable and the wires end up being exposed. Configuration wise it is very good. The fast charge charge / float charge switching seems to work well (100Ah battery) and I can configure the inverter and charger independently. The two main use cases for me are covered: UPS mode with solar only charging and "solar mode" where the battery and solar are used to power the load until the battery reaches a set percentage (75% for me). It then reverts back to grid power until the battery is full again (configurable). I'm using it with 200W of panels - this isn't enough and I would recommend at least 600W to get the best from this unit. The inverter overhead of ~20W also seems high, with my measured efficiency of about 70% at 200W - (far short of the 93% peak). Note: The unit will not work without a battery! For the price and what it does, you cannot go wrong. PERFECT inverter for a starter off-grid system. Something to keep in mind is that although you have AC IN from your house/generator, your AC OUT 'has' to be isolated from the IN circuit. That means no common neutral or ground. It won't work if you do. I ended up running additional circuits to each room in my house where I wanted to utilize the solar. I have it feeding two bedrooms, living room, and will ultimately have 12v feeds off the batteries to each room for lights. The Watchpower software is something to be desired, but it does allow you to make changes to the inverter, instead of paging through the display (which isn't too difficult). If I had to make the purchase again, I think I would have spent the additional 40 or so pound and purchased the mppt, as it utilizes the panels a little better. What you will notice is that the panel voltage will drop from what you are expecting at open voltage, to whatever the battery voltage is. I haven't had many sunny days since I installed the inverter, but when the sun is out fully, the voltage will jump up to 14-16vdc, even with the battery low. But, you will see it drop down. I believe this is when the PWM kicks in to charge the battery, so the higher voltage you see is in between a pulse burst. The only thing I can think of to make this better is to add an automatic setting to allow you to have the inverter switch from Line to Battery and vice versa at specific times. There are 3rd party programs that can do this for you. Read full review

This inverter works so well, I check on it every other day &see it's doing it's job well. It runs my large freezer mostly on solar panels through the day on very sunny and even gloomy days. It also runs my rainwater pump for my washing machine. During most of the night, it switches as expected over to my 220amp hour battery &is then charged via 240v household power which in turn charges battery when it's low e.g e.g. Lovely piece of kit. Really impressed.
