Its ipod nano. It is what it is. The battery is notoriously bad. But as for ease of use and sound quality, it pretty much achieve top marks

Well, The Nano has been around for quite some time now and I'm sure I don't need to list all the things that are great about these little gadgets, but what I will do is list a few of the best things i have found about this: * Ease of music transfer, Whilst you absolutley DO need software to transfer files to this gadget, you do NOT have to succomb to iTunes, there are plenty of alternative free software packages available on the Interent that are faster and less bloated than iTunes. * As with every other Mp3 player that doesn't use a touchscreen, there are consumable parts such as Batteries that wear out, Buttons that become non-responsive and screen ribbon cables that become brittle - the iPod is no exception - however it is easy to work on and parts are abundant. I have just changed over a scroll wheel and screen from a Dead car boot Nano to one i bought off here, hey presto we're in business. As with other gadgets, they work if you take care of them. * The Operating system that the iPod Nano uses is very user friendly, it boots up in 2 seconds, is easy to navigate, and never over complicated, it's logical and minimal - everything you need is there and everything you don't need never made it on in the first place! * EQ - now I love a decent EQ selection - and the iPod seems especially geared towards Hi-fidelity, even on such a small gadget the sounds can be breathe taking if you take the time to search for a suitable EQ, of which there are many. I can't realy fault the iPod - and as much as I am against Apples Bid for world domination - I have to say the iPod Nano is a fine invention and works very well indeed. If you're not inclined to buy Apple - Take a look at Sansa, they have some fantastic media players.Read full review
having finally decided to go with new technology , even though I am good few years behind , I'm really pleased at how easy it is to use, though the sliding of a thumb of finger on the screen to choose a catergory or playlist takes some getting used to.It has also meant I looked into itunes and I have found some music which I have been looking for years for. One of the cons is the difficulty of getting my cds onto the ipod ,it a bit hit and miss,as I onlt use a notebook I have to burn them onto another computer and then put them on a memory stick and then, once opened drop them into itunes .So overall a good buy for a novice like me but I can see I will like to upgrade perhaps in the future.
