The first time I had to cut some heavy steel with it my boss was laughing at me, until I handed him the saw and told him to have a go... I was smiling as he cut it faster than the corded unit next to him. And asked how does he find my toy after playing with it... It doesn’t matter what YouTube reviewers tell you, on site, in real life, at demanding pace this is the ripsaw that should be your weapon of choice. Apart from the need to recharge batteries after every working day, it’s more powerful than most of the cheap corded saws out there. Forget about the 18v saws, regardless of brand, forget about the 36 volt saws... if your job demands power, than power is what you’ll get from this bad boy. It doesn’t bend blades... it snaps them. So far I’ve been using it to cut steel, wood, aluminium, and whatnot that’s in between, even a fibreglass grill and a some reinforced cement boards, this thing will saw in circles around virtually anything else on site. And no, this is not a paid review, it’s a practical point of view. I’ve watched a ton of review and comparison videos on YouTube putting the Milwaukee Sawzall on top of this... and although the rest of my kit is Milwaukee... my ripsaw is DeWalt FlexVolt... and until Milwaukee comes up with an alternative to it, it will be the DeWalt. Brilliant tool, with excellent performance, and somewhat good value for money, considering the backwards compatibility of the flexvolt batteries. Overall a brilliant tool on batteries that performed as good as any corded if not better!Read full review
