The heating element failed on my previous unit after about 8 years, so I had to replace the whole unit. It is a bit of a fiddle to fit, on a pair of steps; three working above your head; three hand and a prehensile tail would help! The quality is OK, but it seems to be the only such unit available. It does not give out much heat and, of course is heating the ceiling rather than the bathroom.

Instructions said it had an indicator on the side to say whether you have light only/light & heat/heat only or off. But it didn't, so you had to count the pulls on the cord. Couple of times came back to wc & Found the heater on. However, it is a good heater for a small area, we ended up leaving it just on light & used wall switch outside the wc & the heat on for a few minutes when really needed.1

Biggest problem I had was my ceiling had friable parts where I had removed the old lighting fixture; next was balancing on a ladder as I connected the 3 core, a bit fiddly. Otherwise VFM & it works well. It works off the existing electrical wiring, provided that the ceiling pull you already have is double pole. This product is a perfect DIY product for a simple wiring installation, for a competent DIYer.

These are not easy to find being old fashion to lot of people, but it’s the only heat l can have in my bathroom. Easy to use and instant heat. The electrician took about an hour to remove the old one and fit this one.

A quick fix for a bathroom that has no heating. It's dated technology but it works well. The top edges of the stainless steel reflector are sharp, but are well out of reach when installed. So yes it did draw blood whilst I was installing ... my fault I should have been more careful.
