It was despatched quickly, but unfortunately was not delivered for over a week! Once it arrived it turned out to be as advertised . Light weight, but very sturdy. Cutting blackthorn up to an inch in diameter between fence wires for up to 2 hours at a time. As an earlier review said, getting the ratchet to work every time is a bit of an art. Basically, the blade has to progress. Loppers happy with both arms on one handle with the other against the body

    Disappointing product

    Vague action. Does not cut cleanly.60 cm diameter pruning is over ambitious, Lopping with this kit is now hard work Maximum extension of the handles makes them seem vunerable to bending Maybe I made the wrong choice, perhaps I expected too much. Possibly I was unlucky. .It looks very nice and is well finished ,Small compensation for my disappointment

    Effective lopper

    I lopped a contorted willow and an overgrown large shrub with thick branches. I found the lopper a little bit tricky to use on thicker branches, to get the linkage mechanism to click into the maximum leverage position, but once I found out how to do it, cutting 3-4cm branches worked well. The telescopic handles are easy to use, but I found it equally easy to apply too much pressure, causing them to flex, so the user has to be careful not to over-stress them. Overall I'm pleased with the tool, it's well made and does the job.

    Sturdy tool !

    Its ok but a screw fell off of it as i was finishing up. Good job it fell off onto the grass and not in to the bushes or else i wouldnt have found it and it would be going back. The ratchet action takes a bit of getting use to and it didnt always seem to engage unless it was me not doing it properly. Overall a good sturdy tool and i cut some fairly thick branches with it but dont know if its any better than one £10 cheaper.

    Strong, lightweight and easy to use

    I was finding my old loppers almost impossible to use as I have arthritis in my neck, shoulders back and hands, but these ratchet loppers make cutting through even quite thick branches a doddle for me - and they're also lighter than my old loppers too, making it much easier for me to hold them up in the air. I'm delighted with them!
