What a pleasant surprise when I finally realized what they were singing about! I have long been lamenting the fact that "we need new, fresh Christmas songs"-- the kind of carols as in the days of old-- that promote good will towards men and the spiritual aspects of the Season". Having had The Muppet Christmas Carol movie since it first became available, admittedly, it took some time before I actually heard the lyrics to the songs on this soundtrack, getting caught up in the hooplah of the Holidays-- not really taking the time to stop and hear the lyrics. Those adorable muppets remind us of what truly matters in life and share with us their hope for everlasting love, peace and joy for all of mankind. This is what I believe makes this movie and its soundtrack a wonderful addition to a Family's Christmas celebration and tradition. Good job, Paul Williams and Miles Goodman!Read full review

I bought this because I had the film on video when it was first released. Before that I went to see it at the pictures and fell in love with all the characters straight away. The plot we all know but the muppets do it in their own unique way. Now I have the film on dvd. I never knew there was a OST so I had to have it as soon as I saw it. My fave track is "The love has gone", which always make me cry. As with all Muppet films (and there have been quite a few, some good some not so good), there's always a happy ending. This cd is brilliant, you'll find yourself singing along to each song. I certainly do!!!
