Hi! The Alpine CHAS-634 6-Disc CD Changer is a good drive for a replacement of the OEM (non mp3 reader) BMW 6-Disc CD Changer. You can mount it quick and easy but you need a interface to make it work on a e46 (non DSP) BMW. I bought it with the soundlinx interface (BMW01ALP I think)... but its a rudimentar and a very slow interface. You get your mp3 running in your OEM radio (or in my case, in my Prof. GPS system, with the 16:9 screen) but you wont get to navigate in the files and subfiles that you have recorded in the CD. It just goes from 1 to 99 track (and if you have a +100 track CD disk, you have to let the 99th play until the end to get to the 100th track... that will be displayed as 01 again). If you want a file navigating system, with file, subfile and mp3 track info (Id3 tag: Album names and music names displayed), with a display of the elapsed time of the playing mp3, and a lot more of functions, you have to get the intravee II interface for BMW. The Alpine CHAS-634 6-Disc CD Changer is a good and solid CD Changer but needs a good interface to get the best of it. Costa.Read full review
