Fantastic documentay by Chris Terrill. If you've followed the Royal Marine Commandos in Afghanistan this DVD is a must see. I'd already seen it several times, but NEEDED to own a copy myself. It is that good. Chris is outstanding. Bonus footage of Chris passing out as a Commando at 55 years old.
A must see production for anyone interested in The Marines or indeed the Military in general. Series documents the arrival of 49 new recruits as they embark on one of the toughest challenges a youngster could face as they strive to win the coveted green beret. Share blood sweat and tears as the numbers dwindle leaving only the best to progress. The series charts the progress of the originals whilst adding in a RM Officer who has completed in excess of a year of Offcer training culminating in the now inevitable posting to worn torn Afghanistan. War coverage from the front line charting our now familiar characters as they face death or serious injury taking on a mostly unseen enemy who have an uncanny ability to fade into the landscape. Series is filmed and produced by the etraordinary Chris Terrill who participated in the training and lived alongside the recruits throughout the making of the series. To make this whole series even more outstanding is that 55 year old Chris Terrill trained for and miraculously completed the 4 Commando tasks that are world renowned as some of the toughest faced by man as he achieved his very own green beret. The first and oldest non Marine to ever achieve such a task. The series leaves you crying out for more - we want to hear from our characters, what have they experienced, how have they been affected? Highly recommended to anyone with green blood. SRRead full review
