Festool of course are renowned for quality and this saw fits the bill. I have one of their sanders too and it has lasted years. This saw cuts right on your pencil line after you have made the first cut of the plastic part of the guide rail. I have made doors and shelves 99% square using a try square for your second cuts, if you are careful and take your time to get the guide rail square with a try square. It is quiet for a site saw and just does the job! setting plunge depths very easy and cutting 45 degrees also a doddle, especially as there is a negative 1 degree setting which I haven’t needed yet as it was spot on first time. The power switch isn’t particularly intuitive but actually after cutting up a sheet of MDF i suddenly got used to it. Extraction to a synced vacuum is 5 stars hardly any dust is left flying around. Of course has a built in 2 second stop after switch off. On the whole it is a fantastic piece of kit for site work and you can get a workshop finish on site.Read full review

Not only are they really sleek and neatly fit away in their own interconnectable and stackable tool boxes, but they are ergonomically designed to give maximum power and usability with the least amount of effort needed. I even got to use this without the need to use both of my small hands to lift it off and on to the guide rails. The precision of this saw makes cutting to a specific depth (and not a millimetre more) a walk in the park. For example, when we needed to make a hole in an existing laminate floor in our shop without cutting through the underlay to install a door entrance mat well, this was the go to machine with the job completed in under 10 minutes. We've used it for numerous jobs on the restoration project of our house and even cut up boards laid out on our antique elm floor boards in the living room without the slightest fear of carving tram lines all over the place. The only criticism I would have is the outlet for the vacuum/hose attachment which tends to swing down and cause the hose to catch on the guide rail as you're going along. We've constructed a get around for this by either tethering the vacuum hose up on a bungee from a beam or if we're not in an area with any overhead structures we use an old lighting stand with a boom arm to keep the hose up. If you're going to get one of these tools you just have to get a guide rail to really appreciate how versatile this tool is. Get two with the connector and you're well on the way to building just about anything with ultimate precision! Do a few practice runs to get to know your tool and to make it work optimally for you. Also visit some of the forum sites and videos to see what other enthusiasts are up to and to get some cool tips of the trade for these babies. They're expensive, but worth the money and investment if you're going to be using them on a regular basis.Read full review

I’ve used these track saws in work for years, and finally purchased my own. This latest model has a few nice touches over the old model. With the ts55 there is no need to own a table saw, it’s small and convenient, deadly accurate, and totally reliable. One of the best power tools out there, if your considering purchasing one just do it, you won’t regret it.
