This for me is a good film and I have not seen the complete film before. My father was a champion boxer in his younger days and talked a lot about Joe Louis who took the title from James J Braddock who was known as the Cinderella man. As I did not know anything about the Cinderella man & I generally like true story films I thought I would give this a look and I glad I did. I enjoyed seeing the complete film & have now have a little reminder of my fathers time of boxing before he served in the army during the 1939 - 1945 2nd world war. Although this is a personal review if you like true story films I think you will enjoy this as it is well worth a viewing.

I've seen pretty much every boxing film made and this one is up there with the best. My number one has always been Raging Bull but this is a close second. The fact that it's a true story makes it well worth a watch and Russell Crowe is fantastic as James Braddock.
