Well you get what you pay for, and this kettle is extremely lightweight. I need it for transferring water partially heated on an old Rayburn, to induction to come to the boil, and for on induction in the summer when the stove is not going (like now). It does boil on the induction, but very noisy and sounds like it is really challenging the induction hob - no other pans which are good quality, make this noise when I boil water in them. It is not as quick as an electric kettle. Takes up to 5 minutes to make two cups of tea from cold start. I really don't think it will last any time at all on the Rayburn, the heat is too intense and I believe it will warp as even the induction plate at the bottom is not thick, and the sides are thin. The handle swivels down, and has a thin prog to stop it doing this when you carry it. It is not robust and I think with a full, hot kettle it would swing about dangerously. I have a similar camping grade kettle and it has two progs ( this one only has one) and even that kettle swings about when hot and the joints are loosened through heat. For these reasons I would return it, but I may keep it for in the caravan and for occasional use in the house. I will go to John Lewis or the Aga shop and buy a decent induction/stove top kettle by looking and feeling it, which of course you cannot do on Ebay.Read full review
