For many, many years I've used Philishave electric shavers ending up with a RQ1000 Triple Floating Heads on a 'stalk' version. This shaved well, but the heads seemed to wear out and make a 'clattering' noise after about a year. The whole head had to be replaced and, even looking on the internet, these were never less than £40 or so. I read the reviews of the Braun 720s-4 which seemed very good, but I did not want the 'all-singing' self-cleaning model, as this would automatically mean regularly buying cleaning fluid cartridges, so the add-on costs would start straight away. Fortunately, you can get this model which you clean under running hot water or with a brush. It's cheaper as well! I bought one at half RRP, and have been delighted with the shave so far. It feels more powerful than the Philshave, is quicker, gives a marginally closer shave and cleaning is simple. So far I'm delighted with my purchase. I've checked prices of replacement heads which seem to be about £10 cheaper than the Philishave, so it's a 'win win' story so far. The final test will be how long it goes on giving me excellent shaves before the head needs replacing. Hopefully a lot longer than the Philishave. I can highly recommend it.Read full review
I bought this shaver because my old Braun finally died. I am over the moon by its performance = fast and much closer than my previous one. it makes a better noise than the last one and feels better as I grip it. Not the easiest to clean and the brush is not fit for purpose so I use an old soft tooth brush which does the job. all in all a very nice piece of 'kit' and I recommend it to all.
I,ve had the braun shavers for years n years. They were always ok but this is the best so far. No shaver is perfect but I would not use anything else. I just wash it under and it comes out like new.
