This is an amazing machine, possibly one of HP best. Easy to maintain and economical to print pages or good quality.. It went out of production in about 2012 and is a much sought after item.

I bought this printer for home office use with several networked Macs using MacOS X Snow Leopard 10.6. Plugged it in, set the wifi up (Network name and WEP key) via the touchscreen and then added the printer via the printer setup on the Mac. Really impressed that I did not have to install any software, it just worked, out the box. network printing, network faxing and network scanning all works - no software install needed as its all built into OSX 10.6. Just add the printer and it appears in the printer browser. On to the printer: Its well built. Four colour cartridges, nice and chunky, so you wont have to keep filling them with ink. The print heads are separate and replaceable, so no need to chuck the printer when the print heads go. The photo printing quality is outstanding, I was not expecting photos to be this good for a four colour printer. The definition is great, but obviously it wont be as good as a 8 ink dedicated photo printer. Mono and colour printing is nice and fast with sharp definition. Beware of using cheap, damp, very thin paper, or it gets stuck in the duplexer. any reasonable paper works fine. The web server built into the printer, has everything on it, including ml's of ink you have consumed from each cartridge and so on. What date you inserted each cartridge, and so on. Everything is there. The cartridges are cheap. which was one of the main reasons why I bought this. The scan to email button on the front panel is useful. No need to have any computers on, just put the paper in, press the button and it sends it out to your email. Contrary to another reviewers comments, when using wifi only, the printer DOES go to sleep after a period of inactivity. The power button blinks while in sleep mode.Read full review

I had to buy a new All-In-One as my old one was not compatible with Office software. It is excellent for scanning documents and the printing is the usual HP excellent quality due to the high prices of their ink cartridges! But worth it I think. It scans direct to MS Word and there are few 'mistakes' in the scanning so the letter recognition software is obviously very good and saves a great deal of typing time. Photocopying in black and colour is really good and photo printing excellent too. The only downside is that it is quite noisy when it is printing but that is a minor irritation. In all I would recommend this as a very practical, good quality All-In-One which does very well all that it says on the box !
I bought this printer after reading the mixed reviews every where about this printer. I have to say after having it delivered its an awesome piece of kit. The box is massive and larger than expected as is the printer and I would say is the only downside of owning this machine. Its a behemoth of a printer full of features. Complete with ADF and flat bed scanner the quality of image is fantastic and features a wealth of resolution options. Included in the box is a duplexer which enables double sided printing and quality of print is fantastic. By far the best printer I have ever bought. Cartiridges seem to last for ever and after countless pages the ink levels have yet to move. Highly recommended printer though I wish it had CD/DVD printing capabilities.
