bought for a friend; this is an older model, LOVE the newer, but this was fine. Newer's have detachachable bottom half, making washing easy, are lighter/smaller but with a little larger end/blades that blend. This seller sent quickly well wrapped functional item for which I'm grateful : )

I got one of these as a baby shower gift 20 years ago, and used it to make baby food. Since then I've used it as a mini-blender and food-processor, especially with an accessory I was able to buy that converts it to a chopper powered by the main item. It is extremely versatile, easy to use and store, and durable. I only wanted a new one because the white casing had yellowed, and I'd hate to be without it if and when it ever stops working. It could be easier to clean, but it seems easier to use and store, cheaper and lighter-weight than new versions by other manufacturers.
This blender works so well it is mentioned in many world class recipes as a preparation tool. It is the second one I have owned. This model has been discontinued and the new ones work differently. I was very happy to find this new one on ebay.

Not easy to clean so we don't use it often

I do have to say I was hoping for more power then this stick blender has. It is okay for smoothies with ice cream or something else really soft, like gravy that is lumpy, but as far as blending broccoli soup for instance, no way. Unless maybe it would if cooked to a fare-thee-well , which I have never been able accomplish myself. I bought it to blend soup in the cooking pot but find it has it's limitations. Still handy to smooth things out like tomato soup that has curdled from overheating. I really don't know if my expectations were too hi since I have never had any other stick blender before.
