First of all, I am a huge fan of Danelectro pedals. My pedal board, which consists of 9 pedals, includes 1 boss, 1 Behringer, and 7 Danelectros. So when I bought this, I was just assuming it was going to be a good pedal, and I wasn't disappointed. One complaint I do have about Danelectro's entire mini effects line is that they don't seem to hold up very well volume-wise. Comparing the two mine effects distortions I have now (French Toast Octave Fuzz and Pastrami Overdrive) to my FAB Metal pedal, these pedals are actually pretty quiet. Fortunately for me, I have the Behringer Blues Overdrive, which I can use as a volume booster by cutting the gain down and using it with the Pastrami. If you don't have a similar solution, this might pose a problem, although it's not a huge one. If you're not using the mini effects on a board with much louder pedals, it's pretty much a moot point. I just didn't like the idea of having to tweak the amp volume when I switch pedals. Another issue I have is that I find it inconvenient stepping on the relatively small button. This is one instance where Boss and similar pedals has a much better design, providing what you're wanting to do is switch effects mid-song. Other than that though, this pedal is great, and it has a cool classic rock vibe to it.Read full review
Sounds a lot warmer than the metallic soulless shrill Japanese pedal that everyone uses. The double speed function is very useful. Sounds fantastic on normal (green LED) with more repeats than you will ever need in real life. Hit the Long/Short button and switch instantly to a great slap-back echo (red LED). There are so many pedals with a lot more knobs, but in reality that only makes them more expensive and complicated, yet still hollow and lifeless sounding. Eats up minimal pedal space, and don't worry about the plastic case, it is really very sturdy. I always stayed away from delays, analogue delays just did not cut it, digital delays just sounded - well digital. This is one of my favorites now, a digital delay that is alive and does not sound digital.

I first played Danelectro pedals in 2002. Fell in love with the amazing sounds and price is great as well. The names crack me up.

pastrami is a serious overdirve with a funny look and cheap plastic body! Very good ability to saturate your tube amp or distort the clean channel of a solid state. Especially good with humbuckers! If you treat its delicate body nicely; it will last forever and gives you unlimited pleasure!
