Great camera even today despite the lesser pixel count. My images aren't going to go on a billboard so I'll live with that. Advantage of Pentax cameras is that they enable full manual mode with their older lenses. I have a 50mm prime f/1.4 attached to the front of this with a fully manual aperture ring, and this body seems to handle it in full manual mode just fine. Disadvantages compared to modern day cameras mostly surround support for video, but my use doesn't really include that. I just want to shoot great portraits, which this body can certainly deliver.

I have played with cameras for some years but only ever bought cheap digitals .my old s.l.r. (pentax me super) and lens have not been used for some years so I bought this d.l.s.r pentax to use my lens's again. I am very pleased with the out come and it is taken some time to get used to using it in manual mode. but no faults at all on auto. very happy with my purchase

I brought the Pentax k-m as it was a cheap DSLR camera. I didn't want anything more as I haven't got the time to put into learning the cameras and photography although I am passionate about photography; I just wanted better shots than what my camera phone could produce. I like the camera because it's cheap and it has a useful question button, which is great for beginners. This is my first DSLR camera and I'm please with it but I haven't used any other DSLR camera.
This Pentax K-m still manages to impress, with it’s solid build quality and is very capable of taking very sharp photos, even though it was released a number of years ago. This model is now great value. Therefore, I’d recommend this model and it won’t break the bank.
