I hate vacuum cleaning. Dragging our heavy old cleaner around the house, it invariably gets its cable entangled in the rugs, tugs out of the socket or even ends upside down as it's dragged around. And stairs...miserable. My son has a cordless Dyson and recommended it, but I was reluctant to buy at full price. The eBay factory refurbished deal looked really great, at nearly half price. On opening the box it looked totally new to me. There is nothing to suggest it was pre-owned. Maybe it is not. The V6 Fluffy is great for our wooden floors and rugs, and there are a host of other attachments designed for carpets, stairs and skirting. It was easy to attach the charging hub to a wall and after 3 hours of charging was ready to go. It gives around 20 mins. Don't use it to do a three floor house in one go, that will likely take more than 20 mins! It works best for short bursts or cleaning a single floor. It might change your cleaning habits. One problem, but one I solved. After the second charge it pulsated and switched off, repeatedly. While the handbook says this is a sign of blockage, it was in fact a small wedge of dust that was stopping a valve flap from moving (where attachments click into the chamber). I poked this out with a pencil and problem solved. Very easy to empty the chamber but that does spread fine dust around a bit - best done outside if possible. I bought a spare dust filter since the one fitted needs to be washed and dried for 24 hrs, once a month. It is much quieter than my old one, and the cats are quite happy being in the room when the Dyson is on, instead of rapidly escaping the house at the first hearing of the old vacuum! I'm very impressed with how well it picks up cat hair and fine dust. It is clearly a much better piece of technology than old style vacuum cleaners. Would have no hesitation recommending the refurbished Dyson at a great price.Read full review

Don't be under any illusion, this is a used product. Mine came complete with dust in the clear bin, a large scrape down one of the attachments and unspeakable crust embedded in another. I'm not sure what Dyson do when refurbishing products but I'm guessing it's not that much, a quick dust, repackaging and out the door. That said it works well and I don't regret my purchase. Very handy to have around for those quick little cleaning jobs. My house has never been cleaner. Just remember, even though it's from Dyson you are buying a used, second hand item. If I'd remembered that I'd probably have been happier.

Having previous bad experience of stick cleaners was wary about the cost of a Dyson. So glad I went for this refurbished V6 Fluffy it is great. Really clean the floors and has loads of attachments for sofa etc.. This has made me realise why Dyson is expensive - it is because it actually works!! It is a pain to empty as the dust gets stick round the rubber gasket and you have to brush it off. But everything comes apart smoothly with no muscle power needed. Thoroughly recommend especially if you can get hold of a refurbished one. it looks brand new and although the battery does not last long it recharges quickly and is so good you can do half the house on one charge.

Whilst the machine is very easy to handle, and use for the purpose it is intend. We have found that the emptying process could be a little less hands on. Whilst we have been using it we have hand to resort to getting a long handled something, ie, handle of wooden spoon, handle if carving fork, etc. to put into the dust collecting area when you have dropped the flap. This is because when you drop the flop only a little comes out, to fully empty it you have to get hands on with your chosen tool, which gets a bit messy for a moment. You push your tool into the canister and guide the collected dust to the opening, and out into the dustbin - this can take a few go's before the canister is properly empty. Overall, it is worth having this product. We just wish it wasn't so hands on to empty.Read full review

I bought this product for its ability to be portable, and clean wooden and tiled flooring. It has changed the way I vacuum the house. Instead of planning a major session of vacuuming I now grab the Fluffy off the charger clean up one or two rooms as time permits and then replace it on the charger. The result is I clean more frequently but for shorter periods of time, which makes it less of a chore. The Fluffy is a maneuverable vacuum with a good range of useful attachments, all of which get used regularly. With a young family eating in the kitchen diner, the flat floor roller gets used the most. It's like a normal vacuum head, but with a velvet like roller instead of the brush roller, this results in it picking up all manner of debris off the tiled floor. Next are the two brush rollers, the first a standard size brush roller used on carpets, the second a much smaller one used typically on the stairs. The smaller brush roller, has a flexible head meaning it can swivel over the edge of steps for ease of access. All the brushes are easy to clean, with clear open access meaning long tangled hair can easily be removed without the need for scissors or knives, as with previous vacuums. The other attachments are a crevice tool and a combination tool, which click on to the storage unit when not in use. All the attachments fit direct to the vacuum body or to the extended tube, which has power run internally down the tube for powering the brush heads. The extended tube appears to be aluminium and is light to handle, not significantly changing the balance of the vacuum. The Fluffy body is mid weight, not light, but can be handled easily as a handheld vacuum. It IS light enough to be held above the head and used for cleaning ceiling corners, high shelving. With the floor attachments it can rest on the floor and puts less strain on the handler. For extended use as a handheld it may start to feel heavy towards the end of the 20min charge period. It charges quickly in the dedicated charging / storage cradle. I think something like 3hr30min for a complete full charge, though I've never measured it to the exact minute. The max power button makes a huge difference sucking any attachment to the floor. It significantly reduces cleaning time, and increases the noise of the machine, which in normal use is quieter than a mains powered cleaner. The max mode is indicated by a blue light around the button, and is (dis)engaged by pressing when the main trigger is depressed. The negatives: Emptying the dirt is easy with the click down switch, but I find the dirt can be scattered beyond the intended destination. Using a dedicated bag to collect it would probably help, but seems to be counter-intuitive to the greener no need of a vacuum bag. I also find not all the dirt falls out and often need to wipe the filter down. With 3 brush heads, there is the challenge of where to store the two not attached to the body and tube. It's been the same experience with all previous vacuums (with more than one motorised head) not just the Fluffy. Overall: Yes I'd recommend it. Yes I'd recommend buying a refurbished model through ebay. The model I received looked perfect, no different to a shop bought model, no scratches, fully boxed and wrapped up. The only slight difference being a 1 year reduced warranty vs 2 year shop warranty. Yes it has changed the way we vacuum for the positive, being quicker, more versatile and less of a chore. I've been previously sceptical of the benefits of a Dyson but now having bought and owned one, I believe they are worth the extra money and provide good value.Read full review
