For the price one cannot expect too much and on balance I'm reasonably pleased with the product. It gets regular but fairly light use drilling mainly acrylic sheets. The overall build is OK, but not to an exceptional standard and the plastic guard is quite flimsy (it broke after about 2 months of light use, but as I use other protective measures, I find this kind of EU-legislated guard more of a hindrance than a help). The drill has reasonable power, but it sometimes struggles to deliver it; the drive belts will slip reasonably quickly if the drill starts to struggle with a material. But you can back off and try again. In the end, I always got the job done. Changing drill speeds means opening up the drive box, so it's a bit of a procedure, but simple enough once you get used to it. The base, pillar and vice are reasonably solid. Overall, it does the job well in a small workshop doing high-end hobby and low-end professional work. But this is not for heavy professional use, particularly if you have to switch regularly between materials and therefore need to change drill speeds.Read full review

Bracket holding the safety guard was snapped in two. Top housing cover (where the drive belt is located) the holding down screw misaligned I had to drill hole to align this because drill would not work. This machine is generic built and available for as little as £47 under a different label.

I brought this pillar drill a short while ago, l'm very Happy with it, the only criticism l have is the plastic Guard around the Chuck, it lasted about a week, my Advice is don't bother with it get you're self a pair Eye protection glasses DON'T DO WITHOUT THEM. However the drill is well worth the money for the Hobbyists. It goes hard wood easy and steel in time.

Needs a stronger motor all pillar drills of this price are made by the same company in China with different company badge on, a 350 watts motor is not strong enough for this machine.
