My one function in the kitchen - 'can you come and open this tin for me' - has been usurped by this gadget. Efficient, easy to use and a godsend for anyone who has problems opening tins with the ordinary type of can opener.

This was much better made than my last can opener. Like the idea able to replace batteries from the top of the machine. Last one the batteries ran out and locked itself onto the can, with no way to insert fresh ones. Had to throw it away.

I bought this as I have some health and mobility issues and was finding it hard to use an ordinary tin opener. This is a great gadget, easy to use, just put it on the tin, press the button and once it's gone right the way round press the button again to stop it. It has a magnet which lifts off the tin lid which is great. The only drawbacks are that obviously it requires batteries which aren't included so it has running costs though I can't comment on how long batteries last in it as I haven't had it for long. Also, because it removed the entire top of the lid there is no way to drain the contents for things like tuna, peas or fruit. I have bought a separate can strainer for this as the only other option would be to tip the can contents into a sieve or colander after opening. The can strainer cost me about another £5. Overall though I'm glad I bought this tin opener.Read full review

Good solidly built and does the job. Have had a couple of cheaper types of hands free but found after a little use the pinion on the drive bent and the things became useless. Serves me right for going for cheaper options.

Been using this for a week now and I love it, so does my family. It makes opening tins hassell free, you've just got to push a button! I did not find opening tins with ordinary tin openers difficult but I found they kept breaking over and over again and I was spending lots on buying them repetitively just for them to break. Anyone else have this issue? Or am I maybe just a bit heavy handed lol. This is good though, it's really smart. Takes 4 batteries AA. You can not wash it in water so just wipe it with a cloth if need be. It cuts a line into the tin's side rather than round the lid's perimeter and it works really quickly.
