The body of the frame is very sturdy-feeling, but the plastic raiser arm feels flimsy and a bit flexible - but once it's in use it seems alright. The configurable fans are a good idea and it's not too loud when they're all switched on max. It did keep my laptop cooler while idling, and there may be a temperature difference of 3 degrees C when this is in use. The only real problem I've found is that thanks to the shape of my laptop, which doesn't have a flat front edge to rest against the small flap at the front of the cooling pad, vibrations from the pad and the workings of the laptop meant that even on the shallowest angle, my laptop was coming over the top of the flap and at one point almost fell off the table (!) If you have a thinner notebook or something without a sloping underside, you may have no issues with this cooling pad. Unfortunately I'll have to use it flat on my table unless i can secure something to the flap to make it too tall for my laptop to climb over.Read full review

The weakest point of this product is the flap above the LED. The flap is there to stop the laptop from sliding off the unit when the unit is raised in an upright position. The flap has two lugs one either end which act like a hinge. I bought two units and both failed in exactly the same way. The lugs snapped off preventing the flap from working (therefore the unit could not be used in the raised position). This is a design flaw and could be remedied if the flap and lugs were made in a stronger material.

My aged laptop's taken to shutting down due to overheat. This is not just annoying when I'm in the middle of something; I'm scared of frying the processors! During the recent 30º heatwave, my new cooling pad made no difference - I had to direct a large fan onto the laptop. When things cooled down to around 20º, I switched off the big fan. I've been watching Netflix all day - this would normally result in a blue screen of death after about an hour. With the cooling pad on, everything's fine. Result! The pad has large push-button controls. From left to right: power down, power up (level 1 to 4); display; number of fans (1,2 or 3 pairs); on/off. There's a little ledge to stop your laptop sliding forwards, and the back legs offer 4 tilt positions. The whole thing seems sturdily built. The charging cable - hidden behind a door in the back - is extremely short. You can plug it into your laptop to power the cooling pad, and there's a second USB port for the device you had to remove from your laptop. This works perfectly. If you have a longer USB charging cable & plug (5v), you can power the cooling pad from the mains which gives you an extra USB slot. Finally, it comes in a nice carrying box. I thought you'd enjoy a photo of the details printed on it ;)Read full review

Really good USB fan - has an extra USB port in the fan which I plug my wireless mouse into. Fan has 3 settings which either use 2, 4 or 6 fans. You have to switch the fan on each time you switch the laptop on, sometimes I forget, this is the only downside - as the fan is really effective for cooling and lights up blue. Recommended +++

Helps keep your laptop cool with six fans, with nice blue lights, you can select how many fans you want on or just have your lights on, would highly recommend this item.
