Its much quicker to set up with no extension leads or petrol filling beforehand. I use this for work and it avoids carrying petrol in my car- no fumes or smell. The strimmer is more powerful than my old mains strimmer and with the 4Amp battery (from my Bosch mower) has a long run time. The metal wire guard is useful to prevent damage to plants and trees.

The ART 30-36 is a powerful strimmer. Despite being battery powered, its a lot tougher than my old mains powered Black and Decker strimmer, though this may just be a reflection of the strimming cable which looks as though it might be metal cored. Its a fair bit heavier, but still pretty wieldy, even with the bigger 40Ah battery I use. However, I was disappointed in the lack of flexibility of the tool. My B&D strimmer can extend for reach and the head can be tipped back and forth and can be rotated so that the strimming head is vertically aligned for lawn-edge tidying, but the ART 30-36 can't do any of these things - all it will do is horizontal strimming at a fixed angle. The only moveable control on the tool is the support handle which can be moved up and down and tilted. For such a well made and relatively pricey tool, I would have expected more flexibility.Read full review

This strimmer doesn't work. I bought it because it is made by Bosch, a brand I admire, and I already had another Bosch device (a blower) with a compatible 36v battery. But I spent more time fighting with the line release mechanism than I did actually strimming. For every 10 or 20 seconds of actual strimming I would spend another 3 or 4 minutes taking the line reel/cassette off, freeing up the line, rewinding it back onto the reel, fiddling it through the holes and getting the cassette cap back on. It was totally frustrating. I watched the video where the guy is up to his chest in grass and weeds, all of which he just strims away with a casual sweeping motion. Nothing I experienced was remotely like that. I would start the strimmer, touch it to the grass/weeds and that was it. The line snapped off at the holes and when I opened the cassette, the line was jammed in the reels and couldn't be unwound without considerable effort. The cassette/reel line release design just isn't fit for purpose and trying to use it will drive you mad. Buy something else.Read full review

Very light and maneuverable. good battery and cuts well. Cutting cord does tend to wear quickly though if using aggressively around concrete.

Instruction book very limited particularly concerning loading the cutting line spool and feeding the line out from it. Very fiddly. Otherwise good.
