THE GOOD....Disabled and toilet seat hinges only last one to three months from me transferring to and from my wheelchair. Big john seat with cover and metal hinges appear very strong and this should last me a long time. THE BAD....Just 3 slight issues. I had to swap out the plastic nuts that secure the hinges with ones you can use a socket or wrench instead of pliers. I already had a very tall toilet so its kinda high with this 2 and 1/2 higher seat. Would be great if they had a stainless steel hinged, regular sized seat and opening with closed front and a cover.

For a large person, this toilet seat solves numerous problems. Heavy duty construction and size are impressive. I bought it as a gift for a relative and while they looked at me funny at first, after using it for a week, they mention it every time I talk to them. Yes, the seat is not cheap, but it will last and is VERY comfortable for a 480 pound person. If you buy it, you will be happy. Steel bolts and large under-seat rubber bumpers add to the durability and stability. Seat does not shift or slide at all. In case you are concerned, this fits BOTH round and elongated toilets. Yes, it may be round, but it fits the elongated bowl perfectly.
