I own a Chevrolet car and read reviews about proofng the material. .motor manufacturers products are expensive but several motorists had recommended Fabsil. It's so easy to apply, very effective and not even 10% of the manufacturer s cost. A great alternative.

Used this to waterproof two of my smocks - one new one old and had been laundered before. The waterproofing on the new smock worked as expected; on the old one, not so much. There was another reviewer who mentioned items need to be properly prepared, i.e. cleaned with the tent and gear cleaner. If I had used the cleaner before I put on the waterproofing on the old smock I wouldn't have wasted the material and effort. The tin only says 'if cleaning is necessary, use Tent and Gear cleaner' - they should change this to 'if the material has been cleaned or laundered previously, you MUST use Tent and Gear Cleaner before using the waterproofer'.

It's Fabsil. Have used it for years, a good reliable product.. Not sure why eBay are asking me to comment on whether it's lightweight or easy to set up though..

Although not listed for this purpose, we applied 2-coats to our ponies old Winter Rugs which were no longer waterproof. First impressions were great, in that it was easy to apply and certainly had rain-water beading and running off the rugs. Three months later and after constant winter wear, which involves the ponies rolling regularly, rain-water is still beading and the rugs remain 100% waterproof. Even better, we have sufficient Fabsil left for recoating several times.
