On the plus side.... the packaging, delivery and documentation are first class and... to address other people's issues on other sites.. in my case they threw in a UK adaptor. It is easy to use and as sturdy as a thin-walled box could be and construction quality and ease of use is good. So what's the flaw....? The handle fitting is a standard design used across most deep fat fryers (and I've had a few!) however there is a serious design flaw in this model which also has safety implications. I can;t leave the handle sticking out for practicality and safety reasons - as I'm sure any mum or person in a busy kitchen or small workspace would understand. However, when you fold the handle down, it rests IN the oil - which comes halfway up the handle. Although this mechanism is common to most fryers - I have NEVER had this before - the handles was always clear of the oil. Not only does this mean half the handle is covered in oil, but as it sticks out when in use, the oil dribbles down the front or onto the floor and/or you have to clean it (and oil doesn't come off easily) each time you use it. ** What is worse, is when you fold the handle back when you are finished, the handle for the single basket rests DIRECTLY ON THE HEATING ELEMENT yes you could wait until it has cooled down, but it's when it's just been used that you most need to fold it away to reduce hazards and risk? Not only could that damage the handle, you need to use a tool to pick it up so you don;t touch the heating element with your hand. Caveat Emptor. I wanted to rate it between 2 and 3 - I wouldn't say it is 'unsatisfactory' tbh but you cannot call it 'OK' either.Read full review
