Before buying, a good power source, a case, a keyboard, a mouse, a hdmi monitor with sound and a good quality micro sd card has to be equated into the final cost of the final cost, then if like me you have multiple units, just do the sums....... I love my units and I have them all over the house....Its a big house, but that is my problem....

I bought this described as "refurbished" stock. It came with the heatsink already attached. I have two other Tinkerboards already, both bought as new. I can recommend TBs: nearly twice the speed of RPi3 for my applications. Software and support problems mostly sorted out since last year. The refurbished one differs from the new ones in one respect: it won't boot up from a battery. It will run off a 6-socket 60W USB charger, however, so it works in my cluster and at £41 cost considerably less than the new ones.

I intended to use this with Volumio to run a HiFi Berry or Allo Digi One HiFi streamer, unfortunately it supports neither. Worse still the USB output doesn't work with the Audiolab or Musical Fidelity DACs I have (sounding very distorted). Basically it may be fast... but its pretty much functionally useless as it's so limited in its compatibility. It was a relief to switch to the slower but better supported Raspberry Pi as everything now works A1.
