Bought because I wanted a cheap large screen (and had access to a largeish van for transport). It does give a good, large non-HD picture, if you have the room for it, as it is quite an imposing unit, especially with the optional bottom equipment shelf included. Definitely worth a go if you only have standard definition. Quick tip: if the picture is a little fuzzy and out of focus in use consider that this TV is around a decade old and may be a little dusty inside. Careful removal of the front screen (easy enough - there are Phillips screws easily accessible around the back of the screen and under some removable trim either side) gives access to the reverse of the screen, the mirror and the lamps. All may be covered in dust or spider webs (!) and a good clean can work wonders on the quality of the picture.Read full review

the tv has excellent picture and sound quality. in the past rear projection tvs have had bad reports due to the bulbs going etc, this tv is still going strong 4 years later, has the added scart sockets so you can add dvd and sky together and even vcr. The built in speaker unit means you aslo dont need a stand has the tv can stand alone, the downsde being you need a seperate stand to put your dvd sky etc on, but if you had a wall mountable tv you would need one anyway, cant fault the tv at all i love it.
large screen for old tv worth up £100 of any one money mine was only £30 without remote but it got a all 4 one remote so happy days
Great sound and picture, films are truly wonderful. The only down side is that its very big and a very very hard to clean if you have kids
