Sounds silly but the Kettle is really comfortable to hold, fill & pour. My previous set was a Morphy Richards brand which lasted a number of years. I only changed because I changed my kitchen colour scheme. so I was surprised that the kettle felt different...comfortable Is the only word for it.. The kettle boils quickly and didn't have that tinny taste you sometimes get with a new kettle. The colour is lovely and elegant, but not quite black, it is more of a slate colour. The toaster is lovely, toasts really evenly and quickly. Again the colour is more of a slate. The toaster is great for bread & crumpets but remember to change the settings. I would highly recommend this set.

I chose to get rid of my old toaster because it was slow and "unpredictable", but I wish I hadn't! This new one is absolute rubbish and a waste of money. It has 7 heat settings but the only ones that have any significant effect are 6 & 7, and they take for ever. Having bought it I suppose I will have to live with it, i'll just have to get up earlier in a morning if I'm having toast.

why o why can they not make a toaster that fits a slice of bread.A standard slice still has to be placed in upright which leaves the top just above the toasting wires but still does a good job of providing an even toast but if it had been made a little longer it would fit in on its side and also allow a greater range of none standard sliced bread to be used. The only other negative is its speed or lack of.

This kettle and toaster were described as black and pictures included are obviously black, I can confirm this set is actually a kind of anthracite grey and definitely NOT BLACK( please see pics). The company apparently has sold over 200 without "noticing". Furthermore the packaging was tatty and products seemed scratched so could be seconds. Thanks
