After I am pretty convinced that my dog was affected by the toxins in spot-on pesticide treatment 'Advantage' causing ongoing neurological problems (noise reactions/tremors), I have tried everything to get rid of fleas, diatomaceous earth (DE), essential oils of peppermint, that specific cedar oil etc, baking powder, vacuuming, lemon spray, washing my dog daily, nothing really worked until I bought this - I used it for the first time yesterday and got 30 fleas off my dog in one go! Awesome product. I will use it regularly now and then occasionally to prevent a future infestation. It's so simple to use and my dog actually likes it! Thank you!

This product did not detect any fleas on my dogs. But that maybe because although the first time I switched it on it worked with the comb locked in place. The second time I switched it on it seemed to be dead, but batteries are new. I unlocked the comb and it worked only when comb was half way out, but could not be used like that. I have no evidence of fleas on pets, other than them scratching, which of course could be a number of other things, Tics, mites, biting lice, or even Mange or a skin allergy. If it does work on fleas, I believe the price for it could be slightly lower based on my experience of it not being made to a good quality standard. Of course most people would be dissatisfied enough to return product for a replacement, which I would do too if I had seen it killed fleas. So I can not say if it actually works or not. I can only express an opinion based on my experience of it being faulty upon my second time of turning it on. One dog was not bothered by the high pitched hum that it gives out, while the other dog ran from it. Same with my two cats. I hope other people find success and do not have a faulty product.Read full review

This is my second flea zapper in 12 months. They work very well on my cat but I struggled to get it through my chocolate labs coat even after giving her a good brush before hand, the Teath on the comb seem to be too fine and short for her coat. The first zapper I bought shattered when I dropped it on the floor. I lso had to use tape across the battery compartment lid to stop it flying off when accidently touching the green release button. All said and done this is still a very good product for cats and may work well on smaller dogs with short hair. Beats using harmful chemicals on are pets. Colin

Because the summer has been so dry I have had a problem with Fleas on my 3 dogs. I have been treating them as normal every month with Advantex but the fleas still seem to want to hang around so I was looking for a non chemical why of trying to sort the problem. This Flea zapper seems to work well if used with care and on a daily bases until you get on top of the problem. If used carefully it does the job and I think was a good buy and less dangerous than over doing the chemical flea treatment and much cheaper.

Makes a soft buzzing noise, but doesn't frighten the dog. He actually wags his tail when it's brought out . Had a particularly resistant set of fleas, and using this with a flea control has almost eradicated them. Still doing him every day, but zapping just the odd one now.
