I bought this as a present for an adult HP fan and can only comment on their reaction to it - they love it! Apparently, the pieces are weightier than they appear, so they sit nicely on the board. They also have it on display when not using it to play with. I was unsure about the "good value" question - it seems rather expensive, so I was glad that the person receiving it rated it so highly! What an amazing chess board. The pieces look exactly the same as from the final part of The Philosopher's Stone. The pieces are sturdy and heavy so they don't constantly fall over from a little knock, which causes a domino effect knocking other pieces over and ruining your game like some other chess board pieces.
