This amp is great for practice if clean headphone use is preferred. If used with headphones only, as the description states, this amplifier works well with a Fender Strat. The sound bright and clean with plenty of volume. When the "drive" setting is used the sound appears to be very loud with a large amount of clipping and distortion which some would like. (Not everybody understands the difference between overdrive and distortion.) The unit is strangely described as a BASS headphone amp. I don't have a bass to try but I don't think for one minute it would be suitable! As you might expect the sound is VERY thin and tinny through the tiny speaker. It could suit players that intend using the "drive" setting as quality of sound is unimportant.

I haven't tried with electric guitar, just electric bass. It works OK with good monitor headphones but is hardly audible through the speaker when used with my bass guitar. I wanted it to power headphones, so I guess it works for me but not for everyone if you wanted a portable speaker.

Bought this to use with a cigar box guitar and am amazed by the great sound from the overdrive feature. tidy and compact which delivers a real punch.

This little headphone amp does exactly what it says on the tin. Handy belt clip, once on you can forget it's there. When used via the small speaker without the headphones the sound can be a bit 'tinny' on 'clean' at higher volumes and on 'distortion' worse but what can you expect from such a small speaker. Ideal for practicing without having to set up a larger amp. All in all great fun to be had with this and when clipped on your belt it could be mistaken for a wireless system lol

It does what it needs to as well as it needs to. When I want a quick practice on either my bass or lead guitar & all I want to do is to be able to hear what I'm playing, the sound quality is good enough. And it is a good shape to clip to a belt while walking around. It would be no good for a serious jamming session, but that's not what it's for. Now my son wants one as well!
