Delonghi Ec221b is an excellent machine. It has 15 bar pressure which helps produce delicious espresso and Cappuccino. Frother is very easy to use. Great value for money too. Highly recommended machine. Frank

I couldn't believe it when it arrived, for what they call a refurbished machine, it appears to be brand new, extremely well packaged and absolutely nothing missing. Using the machine couldn't be simpler with a choice of filter sizes, of which I use the large one because I like it strong. Fill it up, turn it on, set it to what you want and within no time at all you can enjoy your favourite cup of espresso, cappuccino or American etc. I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

The product is good. It takes a few goes to get the coffee perfect if you haven't used one before. Practice makes perfect because now we can make a lovely cup of coffee.

Does what I need it to for a basic coffee machine. The built-in tamper isn't ideal given that it needs to be bone dry in order to tamp coffee. But given that it is right next to where a load of steam is released, it means the coffee just sticks to it. The spouts also aren't high enough to fit a mug underneath if trying to make anything other than an espresso. But it is a good machine and makes good coffee. Love the crema it produces.

This is the fouth machine I have brought over several years, so I guess that is a recommendation! One tip is to make sure you descale regularly, when I have had to replace this machine its usually because of limescale problems caused by my lack of attention. Also beware that the space under the group head is quite short - so you will only be able to get small mugs under here. Things I like - the drip tray that tells you when it is full, and then easily rinsed in the sink. The water resevoir is actually quite easy to remove for cleaning or refilling (once you get the knack of holding it with your little finger to manouvre it round the back of the machine.) The steam wand is basic but does the job. The build in tamper is one less thing to get lost. The clip on the handle that retains the filter when knocking out. The filter can also be disassembled fairly easily for cleaning. The auto switch-off on the newer models is also a useful feature. The machine is also quite compact compared to some other machines I have owned. I also (apparently) takes coffee pods, although I have always used loose fresh-ground coffee.Read full review
